To mark 'Thank a community carer' month in June. Our Wellbeing Ambassadors have created 'thank you' gifts. They cut out and created envelopes to hold tea bags and biscuits. After one busy form time, 50 sets were ready to go. On Thursday 3rd July some representatives from the Ambassadors set off to walk to the Police Station at the Justice Centre where staff were delighted to receive the packages. Then, with the sun shining they walked over to the fire station where the timing proved very opportune as the Firefighters were just cleaning the engine, giving us the perfect opportunity to have a look around the engine, sit in it and even try out some of the equipment. We then had a great chat with the firefighters discussing how they take care of their mental health and what their lead ambassadors do to support their colleagues. The firefighters were delighted with their gifts, and we were just in time for them to reward themselves with a cup of tea and a biscuit while their engine dried in the sun. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were grateful for our Community Carers offering us their time and showing us their facilities.
