School Councillors - Etone Learner Values

On Monday 17th November, Etone's School Councillors met with Mr Bonner to discuss our Etone Learner Values and their importance in the everyday life of pupils at Etone College. The Councillors then focused specifically on the Etone Value for this half term - 'Caring'. They considered the definition for 'Caring', which pupils agreed was the 'ability to show concern and compassion for everyone, regardless of who they are'. The Councillors then gave examples of staff and students demonstrating the value of Caring - in classroom debates, listening to each other's opinions respectfully, ensuring a litter free environment by always picking up rubbish, and showing good sportsmanship in competitive games in PE lessons. Councillors were pleased to learn that in lessons, teachers can now award 5 achievement points on ClassCharts for demonstrating Etone Values, which will help to promote the Values across School. We also have the Etone Values certificate awarded by tutors in form times every week.
