On Friday 2nd October, four Etone delegates attended the first meeting of the 2026-27 Nuneaton Youth Parliament, hosted by Nuneaton's MP, Jodie Gosling, at the Town Hall. The meeting began with a discussion regarding one thing that delegates liked about Nuneaton, and one thing they would like to improve. Following this, delegates established the five main areas of focus for portfolios for future meetings - Mental Health, Leisure & Environment, Careers & Volunteering, AI & Technology, and Education, with an additional focus on community safety throughout. The delegates then elected a Youth Parliament Chair, Vice-Chair, and portfolio holders for the five focus areas. There were lots of good ideas shared by the delegates, which will help to form the basis of future NYP meetings. We look forward to attending these meetings for the 2026-27 academic year.
