We are delighted to be launching an exciting Christmas writing competition run by Jodie Gosling, MP for Nuneaton. Students are invited to write a poem or short piece of prose (maximum 75 words) on the theme "Christmas in Nuneaton", inspired by George Eliot's famous quotation:
"What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?"
Students may choose to write about community spirit, kindness, helping others, or what Christmas in Nuneaton means to them. The winning entry will be featured inside Jodie Gosling's official Christmas card, which will be sent to people and organisations across the community, including the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the House of Commons.
The competition closes for entries in school on 18th November, and the winner will be announced on 23rd November. We look forward to reading our students' creative and inspiring responses.
