The first ever Matrix Netball Tournament took place on Wednesday 22nd April, with Etone proudly hosting schools from across the trust as they competed for the shield in an exciting day of netball.
Etone entered two strong Year 9 teams, Etone A and Etone B, who both performed brilliantly throughout the competition. Showing excellent teamwork, determination and skill, both teams progressed to the semi-finals against tough opposition.
Etone B continued their impressive run to reach the final, where they delivered an outstanding performance to be crowned Matrix Netball Tournament Champions.
Impressively, Etone B was our boys team, highlighting the growing popularity of men’s and mixed netball within the sport. It was fantastic to see boys taking part in the tournament and embracing the sport, demonstrating how netball continues to grow and become more inclusive for all.
It was equally fantastic to see so much talent, sportsmanship and school spirit on display throughout the event. A huge well done to all of our players for representing Etone so brilliantly, and thank you to all the schools who took part in making the first Matrix Netball Tournament such a success.
Etone have once again lifted one of the coveted Trust trophies. Whilst not all about the winners, it is great to see the hard work pay off.
