Sports Day 2026

After the busy day rowing the distance to Ipswich and back the pupils in Etone could have earned a well-deserved rest. But for an Etone Learner that would be out of the question as it was time for our Etone Sports Day 2026.

Organised by the very talented Mr Clinton and the equally brilliant PE team the day is a marvel of Etone spirit, logistical magic and a health dose of competition. With Year 7/8 heading to Pingles Stadium first they took part both classic sports day activities and some more modern takes including the sack race, egg and spoon race, three legged race and the Etone Obstacle Run. The vast range gives pupils a real mixture of activities to try out, practice and bring glory for their houses and the teams did them extremely proud. By the end of the morning Centaur had taken a slight lead over the other houses as they headed into session 2. Whilst over at school our Year 9 and 10 pupils were getting into the sporting spirit with some team building exercises including making the tallest hat possible out of paper and tape. A fete that saw a very impressive 1.1 meters by the winning group in Griffin.

On the other side of lunch pupils swapped over and it was time for Key Stage 4 to take to the track and show their ability as they prepared for the Trust Sports Day in two weeks’ time. Whilst the final results shall remain a secret for now, the pupils made an tremendous effort. A big thank you to everyone for the amazing day.
