On Monday 15^th and Thursday 18^th June year 7 set off to Stratford for their fieldwork trip. On arrival in Stratford year 7 set off to investigate whether or not tourism brings more benefits or challenges to local people. First we made a stop outside the Theatre where we carried out our first surveys, these included a people count, environmental quality survey, land use survey and facility spotting. We then moved to the centre of Stratford for our second and busiest site, making time for a quick photo with Shakespeare’s statue. Lunch time was the perfect opportunity for a visit to the park where pupils had chance to catch up with friends and take in the scenery. After lunch we did our third site and our open space and playground surveys, here pupils considered the benefits of the money brought into Stratford that is available for investment. With the day gone in a flash we headed back to the coaches and back to school in perfect time for the end of the day.

On both days pupils had a fantastic time and were complemented on their exemplary behaviour by the staff in the tourist information centre and by passing members of the public on several occasions, they were a credit to parents, guardians and the school.
