40 Steps to Success

As part of our Learning for Life curriculum and form time, pupils will track their participation in wider opportunities throughout the year.  These are known as our 40 Steps to Success in each year group and are linked to both our employability skills and Etone Values. Please click on the relevant year group to see the 40 Steps to Success and do please discuss these opportunities with your child.

Enrichment Weeks

At the end of each year, we also provide Enrichment Weeks where pupils have further opportunities to develop their interests and talents. These weeks are designed to support our employability curriculum and our Etone Values and planned by subject areas to provide a varied range of activities to enhance our curriculum. This could include visiting speakers, practical workshops, exciting activities and trips and visits. Pupils have a chance to be entered into a prize draw for demonstrating our Etone values or employability skills. Click HERE to see what pupils got up to in 2025 during Enrichment Weeks.

Extra Curricular

To find out more about the range of extra-curricular activities we offer each week, click here. Our timetable is updated each term and informed by pupil voice to make sure that we offer the most relevant and engaging programme that we can. We also provide study support in all subjects for pupils throughout the year to ensure that we do our utmost to support them for upcoming examinations. This applies to the sixth form too where students are offered a varied programme of enrichment activities to enhance their curriculum and ensure that they are ready for life beyond Etone College be this learning how to cook on a budget, prepare for their driving test or know how to keep themselves mentally and physically fit.

Exceeding Excellence

We also recognise at Etone that our students come to us already having an array of talents, many of which they pursue outside of school. We actively encourage both parent and pupil voice as well as consultation with our tutors to ensure that we capture this information. The talents of our children, whether they are elite athletes or amazing musicians, are then celebrated in school through our bespoke Etone Elite badges which can be worn on blazer lapels, displays and regular updates in our bulletins and through our website. We also ensure that this information is shared actively with curriculum areas to maximise opportunities to develop the talents of our pupils still further.  In addition, we also run a bespoke academic extracurricular programme - Etone Exceeding Excellence - for our High Prior Attaining Pupils, details can be found HERE.

Each year, we celebrate the full range of performative talents of Etone pupils in our talent show. This is an opportunity for pupils to showcase talents developed inside and outside of school and compete for our prestigious trophy. Click HERE to see an overview of last years event.

Careers

At Etone College, we are also committed to providing the most excellent Careers Advice and Guidance and have been recognised for the quality of our provision. As part of our provision, pupils all receive the opportunity to take part in both work experience, encounters with employers and university visits to enhance their Careers Learning and to ensure we meet the requirements of the Gatsby Benchmarks and PALS, we are also proud to welcome many visiting speakers into school and host an annual Careers Day and Careers Fair to name just some of our provision. All pupils at Key Stage 4 receive personalised careers guidance and a practice interview day and Key Stage 5 pupils receive support applying to university through UCAS or support with applications for apprenticeships.
