It was fantastic to welcome our Year 12 parents and carers to Etone College for our Sixth Form Settling-In Evening. The session was delivered by Miss Sandilands, Head of Sixth Form, and provided families with an overview of what students can expect as they begin their Post-16 journey and how we can work together to support them over the next two years.
The evening covered a wide range of topics, including expectations around attendance and independent study, the structure of the college day, academic pathways and the importance of making the most of study time. Parents also heard about our Learning for Life programme, enrichment opportunities, student leadership, trips and visits, and the wider experiences available to help students develop the transferable skills needed for their next steps.
A key focus of the evening was looking beyond Sixth Form, with information shared about the extensive careers guidance and support available to prepare students for university, apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships and employment. This reflects our Sixth Form vision of supporting every student to achieve their academic potential while ensuring they leave us well prepared for life beyond Etone. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended and for your continued support as our Year 12 students settle into sixth form life!
