Youth Mental Health Day at Etone

Youth Mental Health Day provided an important opportunity for our school community to come together, raise awareness and promote positive mental health and wellbeing among young people.

Throughout the week, our  Wellbeing Ambassadors visited forms to share Etone’s Top Tips for looking after your mental health and wellbeing. They also spoke with students about Youth Mental Health Day and highlighted the importance of recognising when we might need support, looking out for one another and knowing where to turn for help.

During break time, we also hosted a pop-up wellbeing stand in the café. The stand provided students with a welcoming space to access advice, pick up useful information and find out about a range of online support services. The event was led by our Mental Health Team, with fantastic support from our Sixth Form Wellbeing Ambassadors, who helped engage with students and promote the message if looking after our wellbeing.

Youth Mental Health Day is important because mental health is a key part of overall health and wellbeing. Young people can experience a wide range of emotions and challenges, and having opportunities to talk openly about mental health can help reduce stigma and remind students that it is okay to ask for help. Raising awareness also helps young people develop the knowledge, confidence and strategies they need to look after themselves and support those around them.
